I have a fantastic opportunity for a client of mine based on the outskirts of Epping who are on the look out for a Management Accountant. This is a brand new role, so a very exciting time – I will add one of the key requirements for this role is for someone who has shown loyalty within their current role, who has progressed within, due to recognition and hard work.
My client employs over 300 staff across various depots across the UK.
Seeking a skilled Management Accountant with experience in SQL to join the team(SQL is not a deal breaker as it’s nothing a 2 day course won’t train but a preference). The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing management accounts, analyzing financial data and working on ad hoc project/workflows set by the finance team.
The role requires a good understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical abilities, and general experience in SQL to extract and manipulate data.
Job Responsibilities
- Financial reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, using SQL to extract data from various systems and databases where possible.
- Ensuring the timely submission of the Management Accounts and other ad hoc tasks.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of the budgets and forecasts by providing insightful analysis based on financial data.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of the financial performance, identify trends, and investigate variances against budget, highlighting areas of concern or opportunities for improvement.
- Process improvements: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve reporting efficiencies by utilizing SQL to automate tasks and develop reporting tools.
- Audit: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal controls, and support audit activities as required.
Qualifications
- Professional certification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) Qualified or Part Qualified.
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in extracting and manipulating large datasets from different platforms using SQL.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis techniques.
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- A competitive salary of up to £55,000 per year depending on experience.
