We are looking for someone with at least 12 months experience as a bookkeeper or management accountant, who will work well in a busy, long-standing team. This role has flexible hours with a requirement of around 20 hours per week.
You are confident, autonomous, and not afraid to speak up. You will be able to see where a team is stretched and have the initiative to step-up where help is needed offering ideas and solutions.
Working directly with the Finance Director, you will need to liaise with the MD on a regular basis, as well as external third parties. You will have the ability to communicate at all levels including non-finance staff.
Good prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet monthly deadlines and work accurately under pressure.
The Role
- You will be assigned responsibility for end-to-end production for all accounting and reporting information. This will include the preparation of the monthly management accounts, basic tax and annual financial reporting.
- Processing of purchase invoices and preparing and processing bank payments
- Importing of sales invoices and allocation of payments against the invoices.
- Credit control including sending out copy invoices and statements.
- You will work with the team and other commercial teams to help prepare financial forecasts.
- Collate information for management reports and other ad hoc reporting.
- Liaising with the outsourced payroll providers to ensure salaries are paid on time.
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Preparing all P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting other team members within the office as required.
Ideal Candidate
Requires strong Excel skills. Knowledge of Sage 50 preferable but not essential.
The hours are very flexible, how you do your 20 hours is totally up to you but will be office based!!!
